But it's important to remember that phrasal verbs generally cannot be understood by looking at their literal meanings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, you may have already been using this phrasal verb when talking about searching for the meaning of a word or phrase in a dictionary or online.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"unified-block unified-sentences block-align-none\"><strong class=\"unified-sentences-title\">I made a note to look up that unfamiliar word after the meeting.<\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Look_out\"><\/span><strong>Look out<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you watch Western action movies, you've probably heard this many times before.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is quite an important phrasal verb to learn since it signals danger is near.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"unified-block unified-sentences block-align-none\"><strong class=\"unified-sentences-title\">Hey, a car is coming! Look out!<\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Another phrasal verb, \u201cwatch out,\u201d expresses the same idea.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both of these are used when a danger is physical and close by, but they can also be used for other kinds of danger.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"unified-block unified-sentences block-align-none\"><strong class=\"unified-sentences-title\">I\u2019d watch out around Steve. I can\u2019t find them anywhere.<\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Look_after\"><\/span><strong>Look after<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Don't try to imagine this meaning literally because it does not make sense!
