Support Earthquake Relief in Turkey and Syria Through our Donation Drive
The biggest international news story right now is about the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6 this year. It had a strength of 7.8, which makes it one of the biggest earthquakes ever recorded in these countries. It has caused a very large amount of damage, and the number of people who have died is unknown but continues to rise.
Engoo has students from all over the world, including Turkey, and we want to do what we can to help those who have had their lives changed by this tragedy. That's why we're running a donation drive for three days this month to raise money to support the relief efforts.
How it works
The drive will run on February 15, 16 and 17 JST. Engoo will donate 20 JPY ($0.15) for every lesson conducted on those days.
All of that money will go to the Japanese Red Cross Society, where it will be used to help provide life-saving assistance to people affected by the quake in both Turkey and Syria.
So what can you do? Book lessons with our tutors! The more lessons our tutors teach, the more money we can donate! Take advantage of these three days to practice your English and help support a very good cause!
If you would also like to make a personal donation, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have a special campaign for sending help. You can find IFRC’s international fundraising page here.
Learn and support!
As global citizens, we can work together to become a positive force for support and change anywhere in the world. We would like to offer our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by this tragedy and our deepest thanks to all of our tutors and students for helping us to support those who need it most right now.
