I have training in paralegal studies for the Jamaican legal system. I enjoy reading and writing. I have written poetry for a local newspaper in my country. While in high school, I received high marks for English Communication Studies in the end-of-school-year Advanced Proficiency test. I became an English tutor because learning English opens up additional opportunities in the wider world. The best way to learn English is through regular communication with someone who speaks the language fluently. I am a very positive, warm, and patient person - qualities which, I believe, make me an effective ESL tutor. I also speak Jamaican Creole or Patois, as it is called locally, and I have no objection to teaching this language.
