Shin

I’m Shin. I was born in Japan but spent most of my childhood abroad mostly in Asian countries. Therefore, I have quite an eclectic background. Since I fostered my interest in a foreign culture and ancient history while living abroad at my tender age, I decided to study archaeology and move to the U.K., where I earned a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree, both from Oxford University. Coming back to Japan, I became a columnist for a local newspaper in Tokyo. I wrote a lot about the foreign culture of those countries that I had lived in. The more you know about the world, the more you realize that there is so much more that you don’t know. At one point in my life, it occurred to me that maybe I should make the most of my experience of learning English while living abroad for such a long period. I started learning English at the age of ten and in the beginning, it was not fun and easy. It takes time and practice. As I have experienced numerous setbacks in learning English, I realized that maybe I have a lot to share with English learners. I published a book for learning English, which is available on Amazon or other platforms. Now that I have over three years of experience teaching English in adult education under my belt, I figured out that I was pretty good at it. In my free time, I like jogging, listening to music, watching movies, and traveling around the world. Since I have an inexhaustible thirst for knowledge, I also love learning languages. In an attempt to become a polyglot, I have dabbled in so many languages such as Chinese, Italian, Arabic, Russian, and the list goes on. Although I am yet to become a polyglot, that’s one of the things on my bucket list. I am passionate about teaching and enjoy it as much as learning.
