Originally I am from California, growing up near the beautiful Monterey coast. As a child, I would often help my Spanish-speaking family members, as a translator, and even teach the family to understand and speak English. I also have a deaf sister, and I’ve helped her and many deaf friends to better understand written English. My wife and I love to travel and have even lived in the beautiful country of Belize, Central America. In teaching English, I enjoy focusing on news articles with my students. I think this is a good way to have a constructive discussion about current events and learn the English language authentically.
